​Broken Bow Public Schools is a progressive C-1 school located in central Nebraska. The school has been accredited by the State of Nebraska and the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges since 1915.
School District 21-0025 (Broken Bow) in Custer County covers 426 square miles. Students attend classes in two attendance centers: New Discoveries Preschool/North Park Elementary, and Middle School/High School.
In addition to providing a sound educational background, Broken Bow Public Schools offers a wide selection of extra-curricular activities including football, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, track, golf, one-act, and quiz bowl in addition to a wide variety of special interest clubs.
Vocational courses offered in high school are: agriculture, business education, home economics, and related occupations, distributive education, and industrial technology. Adult education programs are available in the high school in cooperation with Mid-Plains Community College, the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, for credits or non-credits.


Bow Club is an After School Program that replaced Super Kids Club, Inc. This is available for students from the time the final bell rings until 6pm. If your student qualifies for Free/Reduced lunch, there is not cost for this program. Otherwise, parents pay $3/hr.

The Broken Bow Schools are a member and school district of record for the Sandhills Educational Services Cooperative. Approximately seventeen districts in Custer and Blaine Counties have joined together in a joint effort to provide services for handicapped children.

Ansley Public Schools sits at the foot of the Sandhills in Ansley, Nebraska. Ansley is located in Eastern Custer County 17 miles east of Broken Bow on scenic Highway 2. Ansley’s local economy is agriculturally based, and the district serves a large area with its bus service. Ansley Public School provides a supportive staff and class sizes averaging fifteen students. Ansley Public School partners with Litchfield Public Schools to provide a wide variety of extracurricular sports activities. APS is a new member of the Fort Kearny Conference which includes nine other schools in the area. As a one-to-one school (K-12), APS provides each student with an Apple computer to utilize during their educational experiences. Ansley is also a member of ESU10 in Kearney, NE.
The Ansley Public Schools are a Class D-2 school.
